ABF Grocery Graduates

Our Schemes

Are you ambitious and career focused? Are you looking to develop your leadership skills at an accelerated rate? Does the idea of working in the fast-paced food industry interest you? Then a graduate scheme with ABF could be the perfect fit for you!

What are we looking for?

We look for a group of ambitious Graduates to join our diverse Grocery businesses that make up the Grocery Division of Associated British Foods. You could therefore work at one of the following businesses which span across all of the UK: AB World Foods, Allied Milling and Baking, Jordans, Dorset & Ryvita, AB Sports Nutrition, Silver Spoon, Speedibake, Twinings and Westmill.

At ABF, we tailor our graduate schemes for each function, ensuring you develop the personalised skills and knowledge required for your future career with us. This means that each scheme varies in length and format, so you may stay in one business for your whole programme or have the opportunity to move to another one after your first year.

Developing our people is engrained in the culture of ABF. So, whatever your scheme, you will have access to regular coaching and feedback from your line manager, structured core management and functional training. As part of Scheme with us, you will be provided with a structured Core Management and Functional-Specific Training Programme to accelerate your learning and off-the-job training. In your core day job, your line manager and peers will support your development giving you regular coaching and mentoring. Everybody you work with at ABF recognises the value of our Graduates, and take pride in seeing you do well. We know the learning never stops, so on scheme and as a part of your ongoing career with us we ensure that your development journey continues.

We want to give you the visibility, responsibility and support to grow and accelerate your career with us. Why don’t you explore the Scheme pages into the scheme pages to find out more information about our programmes?

What our grads say

No two ABF graduate schemes are the same, I think that is something that is so unique and rewarding about being a graduate at ABF. My journey has taken me from procurement, to manufacturing and I even spent 9 months working on our Brexit contingency planning! I've learned a massive amount during my time in ABF and have developed both personally and professionally.

Colin

I had completed some great summer internships during my summers and spent three fantastic years studying Philosophy at the University of York, and I was ready for a new challenge in the world of work. I knew I wanted to join the FMCG industry- an exciting and fast-paced industry.

Lizzie

After completing my degree in Chemical Engineering, I joined the ABF Grocery Engineering graduate scheme in 2015. The 3 main reasons behind me applying to ABF were: the variety of businesses and roles, the commitment to grads post-scheme and most importantly my love of food!
