A vacancy has arisen for a Graduate Trainee Systems Specialist within our Global Procurement Team, reporting to the Process Improvement Manager. The role is based at our UK head office in Lathom, West Lancashire.

The purpose of this role is to establish and implement the optimum use of Procurement Systems in line with a standard process and to ensure the maximum benefit is obtained from the use of the Procurement Systems.

The job holder will provide support to the Global Procurement team of 290 people across all Regions and Categories.


The successful candidate will be a recent graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 degree who can demonstrate logical thinking and effective communication. This requires someone who can work with minimum direction and can learn how NSG systems operate and hence identify the critical effect of each configuration.

In order to implement the improved processes, the person must be able to empathise with system users and have the personal skills to be able to overcome the complex details and still achieve the overall goal.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Process Improvement Manager and members of the Process & Performance Team, whose aim is to dynamically enhance Procurement systems in NSG.

The job holder must be prepared to undertake some overseas travel. A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to limited public transport to the site.

Selection will take the form of an assessment centre, which will include a competency interview, aptitude tests and a Personality Questionnaire.
