This is an exciting new role for a Mechanical Engineering graduate with an interest in software engineering, who will drive a project to develop designs of seal energising coil springs. This potentially ground-breaking project will further establish Clifford Springs as a major international manufacturer of the canted spring, with significant strategic impact on the company.

Established in 1945, Clifford Springs is an innovative spring maker which today exports to over 25 countries throughout the world. They are one of only a few companies to successfully design and manufacture canted coil springs, supplying to the oil, gas, nuclear and aerospace industries globally. The company is based in Redditch, West Midlands.

The graduate will lead the project, supported by the company and an academic mentor from the University of Wolverhampton.

The successful candidate will:

The successful candidate must have a good degree (1st or 2:1) in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with some exposure or genuine interest in software engineering, and be strong mathematically.

They will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of Solidworks 3D modelling and drafting, Visual Basics and ideally will have experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Self- motivation, enthusiasm, a desire to learn, good personal presentation, punctuality and the ability to see tasks through to conclusion, whilst working effectively under time pressures and with a flexible working approach are also essential qualities.

Although initially a 12 month fixed term contract, there is a very real possibility that this will evolve into a permanent position within the company.
