A graduate recruitment programme for 2012 is being launched by agriculture and environmental consultancy ADAS at the end of the month.
The firm, which has taken on 25 people through its graduate scheme in the past year, has said that it is targeting those with biological or environmental science degrees or masters qualifications rather than agricultural qualifications.
New workers have been recruited by ADAS in a variety of areas in the past, including farming systems, vegetables, livestock, water, diseases and pests.
Successful applicants will be expected to undertake a mentoring scheme as well as a number of different workshops as they gain a grounding for the job, the company said.
Officials added that a combination of formal and on the job training will allow new staff to continue to learn and develop in their field while working alongside experienced colleagues.
