Yet more graduate job opportunities could become available in Glasgow in the near future after 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games bosses revealed they are searching for people to help organise the opening and closing ceremonies.
Those candidates hired to help stage the £14 million shows will have another impressive entry to add to their CV as these ceremonies are expected to be watched by more than one billion people across the world.
Some 60,000 people are expected to file into Celtic Park on July 23, 2014, to watch the opening ceremony, while the closing ceremony at Hampden Park will take place on August 3 and will bring the curtain down on what promises to be a memorable 12 days.
The Queen is to attend the opening ceremony, which will also feature the parade of competing nations and the Queen's Baton Relay. The closing ceremony will see the flag handed over to the Gold Coast in Australia, which is hosting the 2018 Games.
David Grevemberg, chief executive of Glasgow 2014, said: "The opening and closing ceremonies of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games provide a golden opportunity for Glasgow and for Scotland to shine on the global stage as the proud and passionate home of an outstanding Games."
