Graduates keen on jobs in manufacturing and production might be alerted to Honda commencing mass production of the New Civic at its car plant in Swindon.
Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd (HUM) has announced that 500 new jobs will be created to cover a forecasted production increase next year.
HUM director Andy Piatek explained that Car Plant 2 will get back to a two-shift operation towards the end of Spring next year, which is why the firm will look to expand on the current 3,000 Associates.
The firm's recruitment for the positions will begin with immediate effect.
During the ceremony, Honda Motor Europe president Manabu Nishimae said the firm is completely committed to building vehicles and engines in Europe, with Swindon set to continue at the heart of Honda's European manufacturing activities.
Mr Nishimae explained that Europe has turned a corner and a significant production increase is being forecast for next year.
"We will build upon our new found strength and remain confident of our ability to achieve and succeed in the future," he said.
