Law graduates seeking new jobs could be boosted by news that property firms have been encouraged to diversify into providing legal services and advice.
The new Alternative Business Structures (ABS) scheme allows for companies other than traditional law firms to provide legal services, and this is something the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) is keen for its members to take advantage of.
The development could also provide additional career paths for law and property graduates.
The Rics believes the ABS scheme could be of benefit to its members as they will be able to provide a whole host of services to potential property investors under one roof.
Conveyancing is one of the first areas expected to be targeted under the changes.
