Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced that 750 new jobs will be created at its new low-emission engine plant in the Midlands, engineering graduates will be pleased to hear.
Work on the £355 million project at a business park near Wolverhampton is scheduled to commence in 2012, the car giant said.
Dr Ralf Speth, chief executive of JLR, said: "We expect the engine manufacturing facility to create up to 750 highly-skilled engineering and manufacturing posts at Jaguar Land Rover, along with hundreds more highly-skilled manufacturing jobs in the supply chain and the wider UK economy.
"This is truly exciting news and is a major commitment for our company."
Of the 3,000 workers recruited by JLR so far in 2011, 350 are graduates. The car maker has a workforce of nearly 21,000 employees in the UK.
Currently, Ford supplies engines to JLR from its sites in Bridgend and Dagenham.
