Graduates looking for a career in the service sector will be pleased to hear that the sector has experienced its strongest rate of growth in four months.
Services activities were up from 53.9 in June to 55.4 in July, the Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) showed, with any reading above 50 an indication of growth.
Business services and IT drove the increase in growth in the sector, which represents 76% of the UK economy. However falls were still seen in the financial advice market, hotels and restaurants.
Demand for the services sector grew in general, with the level of new business hitting a three-month high.
Experts said the results would be welcomed following a number of disappointing surveys and data and would provide a boost to third-quarter growth prospects.
