Graduates will soon be able to apply for hundreds of customer service jobs at a new call centre coming up in Manchester.
Indian firm Aegis expects to create 600 positions at a large new facility in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester city centre.
Services offered by the company range from finance and accounting to IT and human resources.
The office, set to open by the end of 2011, will be the company's first in Europe and will come as a boost to the UK outsourcing industry.
With the Government planning to open up public sector services to competition from the private sector, analysts are predicting strong growth for the outsourcing market in the UK.
Aegis managing director Aparup Sengupta said the new centre is part of the company's wider expansion plans in Europe.
He said: "Our strategy is to ensure that people calling our centres get an excellent experience, and we think that generally, the best way to do that is to have a strong onshore presence, rather than having centres offshore."
