1.5m UK staff in e-commerce by 2015 - graduate jobs

A new study has found that the number of UK employees working in the e-commerce industry will reach 1.5 million by 2015, news that could be of interest to graduates.

IMRG and eDigitalResearch found in their survey that over three out of five (63%) e-businesses hired new workers in the past 12 months, taking the total number of people working in, or in support of, the e-commerce industry to 730,000.

The proportion of e-commerce businesses that have reported a rise in their turnover since 2010 has reached 74%, figures show.

According to the second annual IMRG e-Jobs Index, three out of five online businesses are planning to recruit new workers over the next year.

In 2010, four out of five businesses said they are planning to increase their staff levels in the coming months.
