Graduates looking for a place in a leading firm may be interested to hear that fashion retailer Ted Baker plans to open new stores in the UK, New Zealand, China and the US in the second half of this year.
The group posted a 9.4% year-on-year rise in its retail sales for the 19 weeks ended June 11.
The British designer brand saw group revenues rise 15.2% year-on-year during the period.
Continuing growth of its US wholesale business and a good performance in the UK helped the label post a 42.1% year-on-year increase in sales during the period.
Ted Baker, which runs over 30 wholly-owned stores and more than 140 concessions in the UK, said its retail margins were slightly below the figures posted during the corresponding period in 2010 due to a higher level of competition in the fashion retail sector.
The firm recently opened shops in Manchester, Paris and Hong Kong.
Ray Kelvin, founder and chief executive of Ted Baker, said: "The group has made a good start to 2011. Our collections have been well received across our international markets as we continue to expand the brand into new territories."
