Two major law schools have revealed that more than half of their 2010 graduates have secured work in the legal profession.

The figures were published by The College of Law and Kaplan Law School to highlight how many LPC graduates were employed in their chosen field.

The College of Law shows that 84% of the nearly 2,000 students who responded to the survey (around 82% of the class) were working in a legal profession since graduating last July.

The figures reported on The Lawyer website reveal that 62% have a training contract, and 22% are working in a paralegal or other law-related role.

Just 1% of those surveyed identified themselves as unemployed, the figures show.

Kaplan Law School also saw a high rate of success, with 71% of 2010 graduates obtaining training contracts, and 11% ready to start paralegal work.

Neither of the schools gave information on how many of those with training contracts had secured them before starting the LPC, rather than during, according to commentators.
