Graduates in the energy and utilities sector can look forward to up to 300 new jobs set to be created through a Spanish firm's investment in Scotland.
Wind turbine maker Gamesa plans to set up an offshore wind technology centre in Glasgow and a manufacturing base in Dundee, First Minister Alex Salmond said.
He told MSPs at Holyrood that he had a talk with Gamesa chairman Jorge Calvet about the proposals, which include "a research and development centre in the city of Glasgow, creating 130 jobs," and "a manufacturing and organisation and maintenance base in the city of Dundee".
Gamesa would soon sign memorandums of understanding with Scottish Enterprise, Forth Ports, and Dundee City over the manufacturing base, he added.
The SNP leader hoped that the news would be welcome as a boost to the Scottish economy.
According to the Scottish Government, the company is likely to invest around 50 million euro (£42 million) for the project.
