Graduates will be interested to know that Haydock-based soft drinks group Nichols says its profitability for the full year to December 31, 2010, is expected to beat market expectations and be "significantly ahead" of the previous year.
The company's non-executive chairman John Nichols said in a pre-close trading statement that its revenues for last year are "well ahead of our internal plans".
He said the company's operating profits are also in line with their plans.
The company recorded strong trading in the second half of the year.
Nichols is a soft drinks business comprising two divisions - soft drinks, which sells and markets the Vimto brand, together with the Panda and Sunkist brands; and the dispense operation, which provides a broad range of cold drinks such as Cabana and Ben Shaws on draught.
Eric Healey, a senior audit and independent review partner at Grant Thornton, has been appointed the new non-executive director of Nichols.
