University leavers looking for graduate schemes will be happy to hear that broadcaster BSkyB's growth is continuing as it looks set to reach its target of 10 million television subscribers before the end of the year.
The milestone was set by former chief executive James Murdoch in August 2004, when the number of Sky customers was 7.4 million.
Launched in 1989, the satellite company broadcasts to 36% of homes in the UK and Ireland and is watched by about 25 million people.
Recent deals to be offered from Sky include its high definition and 3D packages, as well as broadband and home phone services.
The pay-TV firm's growth has been powered by its long-standing coverage of English Premier League football, while an estimated half of its customers subscribe to its movie channels.
Chief executive Jeremy Darroch said: "Sky has always been a forward-looking company and we will push on from here by continuing to invest in content and innovation.
"That's the best way to satisfy existing customers and create new reasons for people to join in and take more from us."
Sky offers nine graduate programmes in areas including customer operations, finance and human resources.
Applications for the latest intake have been open since September and will close at the end of this month.
