Footwear retailer Kurt Geiger has announced plans to open new stores in the UK over the next five years, helping to create job opportunities for graduates.
The firm has posted extremely positive financial results, boosted by a strong increase in sales of designer shoes during the year.
According to the high-end footwear retailer, discounts within department stores - including Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty - helped to improve sales, while 50% of shoes were sold online.
The group - which sells footwear by Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, alongside its own brand shoes - runs a total of 63 stores worldwide.
During the year, Kurt Geiger opened 12 standalone outlets, including a flagship store in Dubai. It also opened 49 new concessions across the UK and Ireland.
Sales boosted by high demand for designer shoes helped turnover increase by 17% to £162 million, the firm said.
Meanwhile, it also recorded a 21.2% rise in earnings before interest, tax and amortisation.
In the coming five years, the retailer plans to open 40 more stores in the UK. It has recently opened a new flagship store in Covent Garden, London.
