Computer and IT graduates will be delighted to hear that IT training and services provider FDM Group is to double the amount of graduate trainees it takes on this year.
In an interview with ComputerWorld UK, marketing manager Nabila Salem said 500 graduates would start in 2010 as part of an-all-year-round programme.
Last year the FDM Academy recruited 245 graduates.
Ms Salem told the publication that the decision to take on more graduates was based on an increase in demand from its clients.
She said: "The target for intake was 400 and has gone up to 500 this year.
"Last year we gained over 20 new clients, so demand for IT consultants is tremendously high at the moment. We have had 16,000 applications so far and we need more."
By way of comparison, Ms Salem said the FDM's graduates intake was two-and-a-half times bigger than that of IBM, and 25 times more than Microsoft.
