Graduates will get the chance to showcase their work skills to prospective employers across the globe through an expanding internet company.

Weedle allows graduates and job seekers the chance to advertise their expertise through its website and find employers who are looking for the skills that they possess.

The company is also creating 50 new jobs over the next three years in south Dublin, which will provide a further boost for graduates looking for work.

The website will allow thousands of people seeking work across 50 countries to search for jobs that suit their skills.

Enterprise Minister Batt O'Keeffe said the Blackrock-based firm had developed a pioneering business, adding: "Weedle typifies the strong capacity of indigenous Irish firms to innovate in niche markets with high-potential online platforms that can spur the next generation of global internet brand-leaders."

Iain MacDonald, one of the founders of the company, said the website will generate increased demand for skills and services. He added: "In Ireland, the US and globally, there is a wealth of highly skilled people with great expertise. But despite there being significant demand from people who need these skills and expertise, there is no free large-scale simple way to match people with skills to those who need them."
