Graduate jobs at Irish tech park - graduate jobs

Tue 1st Jun 2010, 02:54PM   about second-jobber.com news.

Graduates in fields including technical support, technical development and administration could benefit from the creation of over 50 jobs in Ireland.

Two leading multinationals are posting positions in Co Kerry, according to Irish enterprise minister Batt O'Keeffe.

Software specialist Straker is to create 25 degree-level posts as it establishes its European headquarters at the Tralee Technology Park.

Meanwhile, leading wind turbine manufacturer Enercon is to set up a technical services operation in the park, generating 30 jobs over the next two years.

Mr O'Keeffe said the announcements were important indicators of Ireland's economic recovery and the south-west's ability to attract world-class firms.

"The town is well served by a wide skills base in Tralee Technology Park, good transport links and high-calibre graduates from Tralee Institute of Technology - three crucial deciders in the process of drawing firms such as Straker and Enercon to Tralee," he added.

Straker, which develops software allowing websites to be run across several languages, will service client needs across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the US east coast from the Tralee hub.

The 25 graduate jobs will be in sales, technical support, technical development and administration.

German firm Enercon, which employs more than 12,000 people worldwide, will be recruiting staff at technical and management levels for its IDA-supported move.

"This investment reflects Ireland's reputation as a major hub for investment in the rapidly developing clean technology sector," IDA chief Barry O'Leary said.

"Major overseas investors have already recognised the advantages of locating such investments here, and Ireland also has a rapidly growing indigenous clean technology industry.

"I am delighted that Enercon will join this base of innovative companies carrying out strategically important clean technology operations here."
