Six graduates have secured jobs working for accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The accounting recruitment drive is the first of two graduate intakes this year at its expanding Reading operations.
The graduates will be working on the firm's assurance and tax teams at the Greyfriars Road office.
Before taking their final chartered accountancy exams, the graduates will undertake a four-year training programme working with clients alongside qualified staff.
Senior partner Miles Saunders said: "We have held our nerve in the market and maintained our graduate recruitment levels because no matter what the economic conditions, talented people are essential to our business.
"We believe that our decision to invest in graduate skills now is vital to ensure that we have the right quality of people to support our clients as the economy begins to recover."
PwC was named as top graduate employer in the UK and evidence of that commitment can be seen in the fact that the company took on 153 graduates nationwide this month.
Throughout 2010 the firm plans to recruit more than 1,000 full-time and internal positions.
