A global insurance firm is to create 30 jobs at its Irish base, offerig fresh hope for graduates looking for a job in the industry.
A new headquarters will also be established in Navan, County Meath, by Generali PanEurope, which is to expand its business.
Over the next year-and-a-half the company hopes to increase its Irish operations even further, Generali PanEurope CEO Paul Gillett said.
He said: "Ireland remains a good location from which international financial services firms can expand into Europe and beyond."
The new positions will include actuaries, technical product specialists and other skilled roles in the insurance sector.
Local minister Noel Dempsey said: "This gives Meath a vote of confidence in the future of the economy."
He added: "It is a major vote of confidence in the county and the economy generally.
"This is great news for the many commuters from Meath who have the prospect of finding jobs in their home county and who can cut their travel distance to work."
