The UK's IT and computing industry has led a revival of the powerhouse services sector bringing with it new jobs for graduates.
The sector ended a two-year pattern of negative growth during March as the UK's IT and computing industry, particularly large and medium sized businesses, drove job creation and fuelled future growth.
The turnaround in fortune is in stark contrast to the state that the sector found itself in two years ago when nearly 400,000 jobs were cut over an 18-month period.
David Noble, chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) said that although the jobs rise was marginal, it was still "hugely encouraging" to graduates looking to pursue their first career position.
"Whilst the employment increase was only marginal, we do seem to have reached a tipping point which hopefully means we will see continued job creation throughout the year," he said.
The services sector accounts for nearly three-quarters of national output and relies largely on the skills of university graduates for future business generation.
