Science and engineering graduates from across the UK have showcased ideas for the next generation in front line military technology at an event organised by the Ministry of Defence.
Armoured vehicles, bomb disposal robots, unmanned drones and blood transport units all took centre stage at the event which provides a forum for graduate hotshots to display their visions for the future of military technology.
The defence sector is a well-trodden career path for many science and engineering graduates in the UK looking to apply their skills and knowledge to front line services.
The MoD recently revealed that more scientists, many of whom were recruited as graduates, have been deployed to front line operations in recent years than at any time since the Second World War.
The event, organised to mark National Science and Engineering Week, gives an insight into current technologies being deployed in support of the Armed Forces, as well as a forward look at the scientific innovations which may one day add to the current impressive range of tools available to front line troops.
