There has been some good news on the jobs front for graduates looking to get on the first rung of the IT career ladder after figures show a rise in recruitment in the sector last month.
The chairman of the Association of Recruitment Consultants Adrian Marlowe said there had been strong growth in the IT sector in regards to candidates being taken on permanently. He was prompted by the release of figures from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG Report on Jobs.
He said: "As far as IT is concerned, our members have also experienced an increase in IT employment requirements. At the moment, there is definitely an increase in work of that nature.
"I think that having laid low for 18 months or so, those organisations that have larger IT requirements are taking the view that they need to upgrade their systems, hence the IT requirement in that regard."
As the economy recovers from the severe slump, vacancies are appearing in the IT sector, which was one of the worst affected areas of the economy during the recession.
