Technology-savvy graduates are in demand at a Peterborough-based insurance group, which is looking to recruit 12 trainee IT developers.
BGL Group has set up an IT Academy to train six candidates about its knowledge management system, SharePoint, which will go live in March, and is also looking for six more trainees for its IBM iSeries learning programme in April.
Each trainee will receive six months of practical experience, mentoring, classroom training and team rotations focusing on programming language RPG.
BGL, which has 360 existing IT staff, works with famous names such as Auto Trader, HSBC, M&S, Post Office and RAC, enabling these companies to offer own-branded insurance products by acting as a personal insurance intermediary and affinity insurance provider.
Sue Platt, senior manager for IT applications management, said: "We are continuing to invest in our people and technology to support the growing demands of the business. The IT Academy is a unique opportunity for people with a passion for a career in IT who are either just starting out or are looking for a completely new career path."
