Graduates in Yorkshire have enjoyed a fruitful month with several key appointments in a number of sectors, offering hope to jobless university leavers across the country.
Emerald Group Publishing have decided to take on two Leeds University graduates after the pair impressed while on an internship at the company. English and literature graduate Sarah Roughley has been appointed to the company's editorial department, while Emily Hemus has joined the firm's publishing development team.
Ms Roughley will work on administration and support for around 20 journals which cover accounting and finance, economics, human resources, strategy and general management. Ms Hemus will be charged with working on Emerald's new launch and partnerships programmes, providing administration and research support.
Learning and development officer of Emerald Sarah Gilbert said: "This is the first year that we've worked with the University of Leeds to offer students internships and we have been hugely impressed by the calibre of people that have come to us."
Elsewhere in Yorkshire, health and social care law firm Hempsons have employed solicitor Emma Bolland to its health advisory team and Manifest Communications took on two new graduates. Architectural practice Space Group also added three new graduates to their roster.
