The Newcastle branch of PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed 20 graduates and one college student for its HEADstart scheme.
Half of those joining the programme are graduates of the University of Newcastle, Northumbria University and Durham University, while the HEADstart participant has been recruited directly from Durham Sixth Form.
The new recruits will work in the tax, public sector, assurance and risk assurance departments of the financial services firm, with most studying towards the Association of Chartered Accountants qualification.
PwC senior partner Paul Woolston said: "PwC believes in fostering and retaining the region's graduates along with supporting the local community.
"This will help to further strengthen our practice and our local expertise which, in turn, benefits our clients
"I'm delighted to welcome them to our Newcastle office and wish them all the best with their careers at the firm."
