An architecture graduate has been given an award in recognition of his work as a mentor for schoolchildren.
Vipin Dhunnoo, 21, who graduated from the University of Greenwich this year, was given the National Aimhigher Award for his time spent at Bexley Business Academy, Eltham Hill and Blackfen Schools.
The awards are given to people undertaking the most effective and innovative work across the country. More than 200 people were entered this year.
The Aimhigher Associates scheme hopes to give schoolchildren clearer ideas about their futures, by matching them with university students from similar backgrounds who can share their experiences and help them make informed decisions.
Minister for business, innovation and skills, Pat McFadden, said: "Aimhigher is a brilliant example of a programme which changes the lives of young people: it helps to give them the chance of a better future, and to realise their dreams and ambitions."
