Network Rail has recruited over 230 graduates across Britain in various posts ranging from engineering to investment.
The company has doubled its recruitment compared with last year, with more than half of the new graduates - 124 - working in the London area.
Eighty of the company's graduate recruits completed an MSc course designed to suit the Network Rail's requirements and have been employed in project management roles. The degree was offered in partnership with University College London (UCL) and the University of Warwick.
A further 137 were hired through the regular graduate recruitment programme, while 20 of those who joined were sponsored in obtaining foundation degrees in railway engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.
Network Rail has taken on an additional staff of 40 through an eight-week programme that is part of the Government's graduate talent pool scheme.
Adrian Thomas, head of resourcing at Network Rail, said: "By working with world class institutions as well as using more traditional recruitment processes, we have hired terrific talent who will play their part in delivering multi million pound projects to revamp stations, build new track and improve Britain's railways for everyone."
Jobs include positions in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, commercial property, finance, operations and customer services, infrastructure investment, project management, strategic sourcing and information management.
