Chelsy Davy, the ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry, is set to take a graduate position at a law firm that has also had dealings with royalty in the past, it has emerged.
The 23-year-old will join Allen and Overy later this year after completing a postgraduate law course at Leeds University.
George Allen set up the firm with Thomas Overy in 1930. In 1936 he acted as Edward VIII's solicitor during the abdication crisis. Mr Allen advised Edward in the lead up to the monarch relinquishing his throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
According to reports, Miss Davy will complete her course in the spring before heading to London to spend the next two years working as a graduate trainee solicitor with the law firm.
A spokeswoman for Allen and Overy confirmed Miss Davy had accepted on offer made to her by the firm.
Allen and Overy is a leading commercial law firm which has its headquarters in the City and offices in more than 18 countries.
