Programmes Coordinator - London (NGO)

The Institute for War and Peace Reporting is an international NGO which gives voice to people at the frontlines of conflict, crisis and change. Across 25 countries, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, IWPR helps people in the world's most challenging environments have the information they need to drive positive changes in their lives.

An opportunity has arisen for a Programmes Coordinator to join our London Head Office Team working closely with the Director of Programmes to manage implementation of IWPR’s projects, according to budgets, programme plans and grants and the organisation’s overall objectives. S/he will provide logistical support and training to the programme teams and will develop/ manage programmes as required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and project management potential and will be expected to quickly develop strong budgeting and report writing skills. S/he will be able to multitask and work to deadlines across varying time zones. S/he will be resilient, able to deal with persistent frustrations and equally at home visiting field operations in a hostile environment or working late on a spreadsheet in a small London office. Perhaps most importantly, s/he will possess exceptional communication skills and will be quick to absorb new information, adapt to changing demands and solve problems creatively.

Familiarity with new media production is desirable and an interest in IWPR’s work is essential, but commitment, intelligence and a determination to get the job done are more important than experience and/or contacts.

Competitive salary on offer.
