Assistant Director - Explore Learning

Explore Learning is an ambitious and fast growing company dedicated to making a difference in children’s education.

We recruit bright graduates who want to make an impact - both on running our centres as a business, and on the lives of our members who attend. Explore offers you the opportunity to take a hands on approach to management from day one. A high level of responsibility and extensive training will allow you to thrive and rapidly progress your career. You can enjoy real job satisfaction and gain the skills to develop a small business successfully.

Explore Learning is a national network of education centres providing maths and English tuition to children aged 5-14, aiming to improve knowledge, confidence and enjoyment of learning. We work closely with the children and their parents to create a tailored learning programme that meets their individual needs and maps to the National Curriculum.

Candidates must be:

• Enthusiastic and confident to promote Explore Learning at any opportunity.
• Professional, articulate and persuasive.
• Willing and able to take responsibility for the success of a centre.
• Passionate about helping children achieve their potential & able to build a strong rapport.
• Highly motivated with a bright enthusiastic personality.
• Ambitious to enhance their professional development and become a Centre Director.

Skills Required

Experience of working with children, 2:2 degree in any discipline, grade B at maths and English GCSE or equivalent.

The Role of Assistant Director

You will gain broad business experience, learning to promote, market and sell a new concept in education; how to operate a business unit, and be responsible for the recruitment and development of a team of tutors as part of the Management team. We also hope you will embrace the opportunity to progress to Centre Director within 12-24 months where you will directly supervise staff and have overall responsibility for the Centre’s development, operations and profitability.

The role of Assistant Director is varied, challenging and very rewarding; offering you the chance to gain broad business experience, while working in a fun environment to benefit children. Starting as an Assistant Director you will be in a team of three, either launching a new centre or running an established centre. The key to the success of each centre is down to the three managers: the Centre Director and two Assistant Directors. The full time team are graduates, all sharing a passion for education and the desire to help children reach their full potential.

What we are Looking For

Assistant Directors need to be willing to take on the responsibility to drive forward the growth and development of our learning centres using their promotional and managerial strengths.

All applicants MUST be eligible to work in the UK without requiring a work permit.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £21,000 PA (plus London weighting). A target based monthly bonus scheme with the potential to earn up to £2,800 PA. A corporate gym membership with Fitness First.

How to Apply

Our recruitment process runs all year round as we continue to launch new centres throughout the year. Opportunities arise throughout the year in our new and existing centres, so please apply for any settings.

We recommend applying early if you are interested in working in a particular centre/region at a specific time, that way we can offer you a position early and will put you ahead of other applicants interested in the same area.

We also accept deferred applications if you have not graduated yet or are thinking of travelling.
