The Company:
The world is changing - for the first time, more people will live in cities than in the countryside, natural resources are getting scarcer, people are demanding a constant flow of information, living longer and travelling more. Because of this Siemens is concentrating on 3 key areas - Energy, Industry & Healthcare Technology.

Energy: Includes Renewable and Fossil Power Generation, Power Transmission & Distribution, Gas Turbine Manufacturing and Metering Services.

Industry: Includes Road Traffic Management, Rail Technology, Automation & Control, Building Technologies and Metallurgical Services.

Healthcare: Includes managed technology solutions, manufacturing of magnets & laboratory equipment, molecular imaging equipment and supply of hearing aids.

We are also heavily involved in technology development and IT Solutions & Services via: Roke Manor Research who work in internet technology, information systems, wireless and radar technology, systems engineering and emerging technologies in civil and defense markets and Siemens IT Solutions & Services who work with organisations such as the BBC.

In the majority of these areas, Siemens offer a range of graduate opportunities across Engineering, IT & Business related roles giving you real scope to make your mark, make fresh ideas and rise to the challenge.

Graduate training and profiles:

Information and FAQ
Training & Development

Regardless of which role you choose, your training & development will involve a three tier approach:

  1. Local - Your manager will work with you to create a personal development plan that details what you need to be able to do your role and how you will achieve it.
  2. Professional - As well as developing your current role, you’ll also be looking ahead to the future. In many cases this will working towards Chartered status with bodies such as IMechE, IET, CIMA etc.
  3. The Graduate Development Programme (GDP) involves participation in a 2 year programme focusing on the generic skills that all graduates require across 9 modules covering personal and business skills.
